Final Fantasy VII Episodes 21-30

Legend of the Not-So-Hidden Temple – FFVII Ep. 30

Oh hey! Welcome back to Save File Plays Final Fantasy VII! Last time, there was a date, and then there was a spy. One of those was just insignificantly better than the other. We got the Keystone, and then lost it. Presumably, the Temple of the Ancients will be opened if we go straight there though. There’s nothing else to do, so let’s go for it!

I cut out the travel. I didn’t think you’d mind.

Cloud: Tseng? Of the Turks?!

Shit man, do you know anyone else named Tseng? It doesn’t seem like a common name. Though it is a pretty badass one, if I do say so myself.

Tseng: It’s not the Promised Land… Sehpiroth’s searching for…
Cloud: Sephiroth?! He’s inside?!
Tseng: Look.. for yourself. Damn… Letting Aeris go was the start… of my bad luck. The President… was wrong.

Aeris: The Promised Land isn’t like what you imagined. And i’m not going to help. Either way, there was no way Shinra could have won.
Tseng: …Pretty harsh. Sounds like something you’d say. The Keystone… place it on the altar.

Well then, don’t mind if I do!

Let’s Play Mog House! – FFVII Ep. 29

Welcome back to Save File Plays Final Fantasy VII! Last episode, we finished up Wutai, and don’t ever have to visit there again if we don’t want to. We killed Don Corneo, solved Yuffie’s daddy issues, and got some new gear and Materia, including her Level 4 Limit Break. Now, however… we’re met with the nebulous goal of finding the Temple of the Ancients.

Since I don’t really know where to go yet, I’m going to head back to Fort Condor so I can at least properly show off the minigame.

MUSIC: Main Theme of Final Fantasy VII

Time to float around in the Tiny Bronco

The Tiny Bronco can travel through rivers, which is handy. Also, necessary if you want to get back to the other continent.

There’s a house there! I have not visited this house yet!

Wutai 2: Pagoda Boogaloo – Save File Plays FFVII Ep. 28

Welcome back to Save File Plays Final Fantasy VII! Last episode, all I wanted to do was explore, but then all of the Materia was stolen. So now we’re being led on some goddamn Scooby Doo chase to get it back, and the Turks are around, and I’m in the most stereotypical town in the game, and I JUST WANT THIS PART TO BE OVER. So let’s finish it, shall we?

It really isn’t that bad, it just feels very long to me.

MUSIC: Wutai

So in the area with the Pagoda, if you go to the building on the left and ring the gong, a door appears. It’s actually really cool, and I wish that I could make a door appear by hitting a gong. Actually, I just wish that I had a gong.

Welp, may as well see what’s going on down there, right?

: Hey! Who do you think I… OW! What are you doing? Jerk!

I’m a ROCKET TOWN… Rocket Town. – FFVII Ep. 26

Oh, hey! Welcome back to Save File Plays Final Fantasy VII! Last time we got through Mt. Nibel, one of the most annoying and pointless dungeons in the game. Perhaps THE most annoying and pointless. But it’s done. And I can stop complaining now. When last we left off, we were right outside of the next town… ROCKET TOWN. So let’s see what’s going on there, shall we?

MUSIC: Oppressed People

What’s what now?

Oooooooh. Oh. The rocket. You know, the one that the town is named after? You know, ROCKET TOWN?

Okay, to be fair, this game came out almost 20 years ago. Space exploration has come so far since then (kind of).

Save File Plays FFVII Ep. 25 ~ I Have Been to the Mountain

Oh, hello! Welcome back to Save File Plays Final Fantasy VII! Last episode, we got to explore a town that had supposedly burned down 5 years previously. Talking to the townspeople didn’t seem to solve much of that conundrum. And a lot of them were awfully suspicious. Beyond that, we caught a glimpse of Sephiroth, and recruited an optional character (who has an entire game based around him) and heard some valuable backstory on Sephiroth.

We need to get over Mt. Nibel.

So let’s get to it!

As is my custom, I decided to switch up the party since we’re heading to a new dungeon.

I brought in the new guy, as well as Red XIII. The weapon we got from the Cave of the Gi is the most powerful one, so Red XIII will be hitting pretty hard. And I figured I should show off Vincent at least a little bit.

MUSIC: Underneath the Rotting Pizza

This might look a little familiar.

It’s the mountain from the flashback!
