Welcome back to Let’s Play Legend of Legaia Ep. 4, with ME! Dinosaur of Save File TV! But you already knew that because you’re on our website, I guess.
Anyways, when last we left off, Vahn was at the foot of Mt. Rikuroa, our next destination! Let’s get right to it!
Meta: “Let’s hurry to the top of the mountain! Our friends… our friends must be there!”
Say hi to our new recruit! Right now, her personality doesn’t really come through since for some reason she decides to go all “Silent Protagonist” for her introduction, but she’s pretty awesome. You’ll see why in a bit, but she’s probably my favorite character!
Music: Noa’s Dream
Music: Snowdrift Cave
Terra: “Yes, well, you should always remember your dreams, no matter how painful. Dreams tell you about the future. All right then, time for practice! Come with me!”
Geez, lay off a little bit, would ya?
Terra: “Good. A Seru touched by the Mist begins to act on its own and possess the human that uses it. So you must be careful. Now I will leave you. I will be waiting up ahead.”
There aren’t even any random encounters here or anything.
Terra: “That’s right, Noa. Soon you will be entrusted with the reviving of the Genesis Trees. How soon that day comes depends entirely on you.”
Terra: “Correct! It’s the Genesis Tree at Mt. Rikuroa! Mt. Rikuroa is located south of this cave. Although now we are trapped inside Snowdrift Cave, someday, someday… The day will come when you and I will go to Mt. Rikuroa together! Noa, I look forward to that day with eagerness. Now come with me. After using the mind, it’s time to use the body. Time for training!”
Terra: “As I have always said, never get careless during practice, or you’ll get hurt. Touch the Red Piura or Black Piura sticking out of those holes to start fighting. If you’re not confident, fight the Red Piura. If you’re confident, fight the Black Piura. Ready, Noa? Begin!”
Like with Vahn, Noa starts off at Level One with no abilities, equipment or Arts.
And even without Spirit, we can input 4 actions. I don’t think I pointed this out, but Arts are composed of at least 3 inputs, and you can combine them. So say the last move ended with down, you can use that down as the start of another Art that begins with a down input.
Let’s take on another Red Piura and learn some more Arts!
WHAT THE HECK DO YOU THINK I’M DOING OVER THERE? FLAILING AROUND LIKE A FOOL?
Tough Love is Noa’s other 5 input Art. The damage isn’t stellar, but it has a chance to charm an enemy (meaning they’re on our side for awhile), so this can be EXTREMELY handy in some battles. If I ever remember it exists.
I gained a level in there somewhere, but I guess I missed the shot of it. Anyways, once Noa hits Level 2, we can have six inputs once we use Spirit…
;_; it… it’s so beautiful. There aren’t many standard enemies that can stand up to a Tempest Break. Noa is my favorite character. She hits like a truck, she’s fast, and she’s got an awesome personality.
Some of the Piuras get back up, but eventually we take them all out.
Terra: “A hole must have opened in the cave. Be careful, Noa! It’s the Mist! They’re out there, in the Mist! Noa! Quick! We must hurry! We’ll follow the wind to the Genesis Tree! Hurry, to Mt. Rikuroa! Hurry, Noa! We’ve no time to lose! Follow me!”
GOD, I GET IT. WE’LL GO TO THE DAMN MOUNTAIN.
Yeah, it looks like there are Seru behind, too.
Terra: “I can feel the wind blowing here. Do you know what that means, Noa? It means we can go outside! Let’s head for Mt. Rikuroa and the Genesis Tree.”
HAVE YOU FIGURED OUT WHAT WE’RE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING AND WHERE WE’RE SUPPOSED TO BE GOING YET? WHY DON’T YOU TELL ME AGAIN?! GO AHEAD!
